Servo staff threatened by knife-wielding robber

Police are on the lookout for a man who attempted to rob a Whyalla service station while armed with a knife overnight.

According to police, officers were called to the service station on McRitchie Crescent just before 2:30am on Thursday, May 13 after a hold up alarm was activated by a staff member.

A man approached the night window armed with a knife and demanded cash from the operator. He left empty handed after the alarm was raised and was last seen on foot on Head Street.

The suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance, brown short hair and of medium build. He was wearing a grey 'Levi' branded hoodie with the hood up, long blue pants, dark shoes and red face mask.

Police later located the hoodie and face mask on Head Street.
