Strathalbyn's Hannah Munyard to represent Adelaide Crows at AFL Women's Grand Final Sprint

Strathalbyn AFL Women's (AFLW) fans will have something extra to crow about at the grand final this Saturday as one of their own takes part in a feature event at Adelaide Oval.

Hannah Munyard, who plays for the Adelaide Crows, will represent her team in the AFLW Grand Final Sprint.

She was drafted to the Crows for her speed - football administration general manager Phil Harper said at the time that she "fits the need for us, a really quick player with good skills" - so they have faith in her ability to snag one of the wins they will be aiming for on the day.

Munyard will take on Ebony Antonio (Fremantle), Kaitlyn Ashmore (North Melbourne), Maddy Brancatisano (Richmond), Tyanna Smith (St Kilda), Katelyn Pope (West Coast), Brooke Lochland (Western Bulldogs), Ruby Svarc (Brisbane), Jess Hosking (Carlton), Aliesha Newman (Collingwood), Eden Zanker (Melbourne), Becky Webster (Geelong), Kalinda Howarth (Gold Coast), and Haneen Zreika (GWS).

In this year's grand final, Adelaide plays against Brisbane - reminiscent of the first AFLW grand final in 2017 - at Adelaide Oval.

The Crows will be aiming to take home their third premiership.

Munyard played three games for the Crows this season, having moved closer to home after playing for the Western Bulldogs last year.

Her selection for the grand final sprint likely means unfortunately she will not take the field for the big dance.

More than 10,000 tickets to the grand final were snapped up 15 minutes after they went on sale, and as of Thursday afternoon, April 15, 17,000 tickets had been bought.

Gates open at 12pm, the grand final sprint heats are at 12.10pm, the Welcome to Country is at 12.42pm, and a pre-game performance by G Flip is at 12.50pm, before the game begins at 1.30pm.

The AFLW Grand Final Sprint will be run at half time.
