Whyalla dance teacher Debra Pearce, known fondly as "Miss Deb", was recently recognised for her commitment to calisthenics with a life membership to the Calisthenics Association of South Australia (CALSAC).
Ms Pearce has been a member of calisthenics in Whyalla since 1969 and is the Principal Coach of the Whydale Calisthenics and Dance Club.
She was awarded the life membership with CALSAC at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) earlier this month where she has been on the committee for 10 years.
"Deb is a dedicated woman who has always been very passionate about the sport and is the biggest advocator for the country clubs to be considered with the city clubs across the State," said supporter Alyce Wood.
"She volunteers a lot of her time across the sport coaching the Junior team, individual items, skills exams as well as coordinating the coaching committee, liaising with the board and organising the annual concerts held by the club.
"Deb has touched a lot of lives of past and present Calisthenics girls who are immensely proud of her for this wonderful achievement.
"Congratulations Deb, what a fantastic accomplishment!"
