COOL SOCKS: Talented Whyalla singer-songwriter Brie Ryan performed in front of a packed house at Tickle Belly Hill for Valentine's Day.

A young Whyalla talent scored an opportunity to mark the re-opening of Tickle Belly Hill near Port Augusta with a live performance for their Valentine's Day function.

Brie Ryan was invited to perform by the new owners, Sacha and Eric Brown, and said the day was "absolutely beautiful" with great weather and a cool atmosphere.

"On Valentine's Day night it was completely sold out, so that was pretty good," she said.

Brie performed a mix of covers and originals, including songs from her debut EP Home and some new songs that she's working on honing.

"I picked up a few gigs from playing at Tickle Belly Hill, including one at a wedding which is pretty cool," she said.

The response to Brie's EP has been impressive, with the album now having over 100,000 streams on Spotify and positive feedback from the community.

"The response was way better than I expected," she said.

At the moment Brie is working on material for a new album, and she's looking forward to performing at the 2021 uneARTh Festival after previous year's event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brie also has two weddings in Quorn that she has been booked to perform at, making her a popular choice for performances right through the region.

"I think my kind of music suits the vibe of those events," she said.
