BEST JUNIOR 8 BALL PLAYERS COMPETE IN SINGLES
The annual under age 8 ball singles titles for the above group were held recently at the Whyalla Left Hand Club.
First cab off the rank was the under 12 division where Saxon Kittel was opposed by Darcy Cruse.
Experience won the night with Saxon winning 3-0. However Darcy produced the best three 8 ball frames he has ever played and pushed Saxon in every frame, all three frames were closer than most expected.
In the under 15 division Daniel Hanley showed why he won an Australian Title at under 12 level.
He produced a polished performance to beat a competitive Jessica Milanese in three close frames 3-0.
Jessica came fourth in the state at under 18 girls level last year but although she has beaten Daniel a few times during this year she was no match on the night.
In the under 18 division James Tudhope came up against Shakira Milanese. James was too experienced and after an improved year ran out a 3-0 winner.
Of the six players, five are to journey to Adelaide early in November to represent Whyalla in the Under Age State Tryouts.
Whyalla has had considerable success in the past winning a number of state titles and providing several state representatives in the past.
Whyalla Come and Try Junior Cue Sports hosts under 18 games at the Whyalla Left Hand Club every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm. New players, either boys or girls, are most welcome.
