A case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Whyalla.
Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier fronted the media today to give an update on the 33 new COVID-19 cases in South Australia.
During the press conference, Dr Spurrier was asked if any of the new cases were located in the regions.
"I have been told there is a case in Waikerie and I also understand also in Whyalla," was her response.
Later Dr Spurrier was asked how many cases were located across those areas.
"It's certainly less than five individuals," she said.
The news comes as South Australian Premier Steven Marshall moves to closed the state's borders, with the number of confirmed SA cases rising to over 100.
The AFL season has also been postponed, with tonight's game between the West Coast Eagles and the Melbourne Demons to be the final match until the season resumes.
More to come.
