Three arrested, drugs, weapons seized

Three people have been arrested in Whyalla Norrie after police stopped a car for a mobile driver test.

About 11.40pm on Thursday, January 9 Whyalla Police conducted a traffic stop on a Holden Cruze travelling on Hincks Avenue at Whyalla Norrie.

Police searched the sedan and the two occupants and allegedly located 10 grams of methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia and an amount of cash.

A 30-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman, both from Whyalla, were arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

Further investigation led police to a home on Hincks Avenue where they search the premises and located two grams of methamphetamine and an amount of cash.

A 26-year-old man from Whyalla was arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

Whyalla police searched a further two houses in Whyalla, with the assistance of a drug detection dog, police located three grams of methamphetamine, approximately 250 grams of dried cannabis, a taser, nun chucks, cash and further evidence of drug trafficking.

All three suspects were refused police bail and faced the Whyalla Magistrates Court, where they were remanded in custody until a later date.
