A local man has been arrested following a recent hit-and-run crash in Whyalla Norrie.
It is alleged that about 8.30pm on Friday, September 6 police and emergency services were called to Smoker Street after reports that a Holden ute was doing burnouts when it collided with a female pedestrian.
The ute then left the area.
The victim, a 33-year-old Whyalla woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which were not considered to be life-threatening.
Police searched the area and found the ute in Whyalla Stuart, seizing it for forensic examination.
A 21-year-old Whyalla Stuart man was arrested and charged with causing harm by use of a vehicle, leaving the scene of a collision without rendering assistance and exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol, after he recorded a breath test reading of 0.066.
He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
