Decent rainfalls are expected across most parts of South Australia starting later today, Tuesday, June 11 as a change filters in due to a number of cold troughs moving towards the east.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts a slight to medium chance of rainfall which will extend over the central districts and increase to a medium high chance over parts of the West Coast and Eyre Peninsula during Tuesday evening with major falls expected on Wednesday, June 12.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight on Friday, June 14, are expected to be 2-10mm increasing to 10-25mm over areas southeast of about Leigh Creek to Tarcoola to Kimba to Kingscote.
Local falls of 25-50 mm are possible about the ranges between Hawker and Mount Lofty and 0-2mm is forecast across the far north and west of the State.
It is predicted that from Wednesday, June 12, to Sunday, June 16, Adelaide could receive up to 30mm.
Across the same five days the Yorke Peninsula could see up to 14mm, with up to 20mm on Kangaroo Island, 5-8mm on the West Coast and 10-30mm in the Flinders district.
At the same time it is predicted falls of about 10-15mm for the Lower Eyre Peninsula and 10-25mm for the Eastern Eyre Peninsula ( more falls closer to the coast).
The Riverland could receive from 10-30mm over the next five days, with the Murraylands predicted to get between 10mm and 25mm.
Lower South East could get from 10-25mm with the Upper South East predicted to get from 10-25mm.
The Mount Lofty Ranges is predicted to receive anything up to 50mm in the hills with the coast having 10-20mm.
There are strong wind warnings for the following areas on Wednesday, June 12 - Far West Coast, Upper West Coast, Lower West Coast, Central Coast, South Central Coast, Investigator Strait, Upper South East Coast and Lower South East Coast.
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain in excess of 10mm and fresh north to northwesterly winds are expected to develop overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
Warnings are for the districts of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands and North East Pastoral.
