WINNERS: The 2018/2019 Club Championship winners were presented with trophies.

The third and final round of the Club Championship was held on Saturday, May 4, with a strong field of entries, mother nature threatening to rain on us all day and the temperatures low it was still a great day of racing with every racer wanting to take out the Club Championship trophy.

We had clear winners for the Club Championship, and it was great to see the support of the racers which stayed behind for presentations (final one for the season)

The support the club gets from these three constant racers in Modified Eliminator is commended and appreciated by all.

The race was between Bradley Hicks and Adam Mundy.

After a round robin racing session Mundy took the win after Hicks left a little early and ran a red light. Mundy running a 4.69 @ 149mph on a 4.64 dial in

We saw a great field of Super Sedans compete on the day which saw Sean McClelland in his 1968 Camaro take the lucky win over Leonello in the HI-Tec Oils Lane 2 running a 7.73 @ 65.09 mph after Tony Leonello breaking out in Max Cranes Lane 1 running a 6.29 @ 102.75 mph on a 6.30 dial in.

It's always great to see new racers at the Steel City Race Way and even better when they take the win in Super Street.

Tony Antonino took the Super Street win in Hi-Tec Oils Lane 2 running a 7.10 @ 87.73 mph on a 7.05 dial in over local girl Erin Racanati who ran a 7.89 @ 86.69 mph on a 7.84 dial in, in Max Cranes Lane 1

The bikes are back, and they delivered a great show. One way to get someone hooked on drag racing is simple really give them a win.

That's what happened to Terry Tayler in the Max Cranes Lane 1 after a double break out and David Willis running a red light in Hi -Tec Oils Lane 2.

Tayler took the win for Modified Bike breaking out and running 8.12 @ 92.21 mph on a 8.30 dial in over

Street Challenge is always hard to pick a winner and with a racer who is so consistent in ever bracket he races in; it was great to see him take out the Street Challenge for the day.

Michael Jennings in Max Cranes Lane 1 took the win over Kieley O'Connell in HI-Tec Oils Lane 2. Jennings running 8.65 @ 61.92 mph on 8.45 dial in and winning over O'Connell after she ran 10.81 @ 66.14mph on 10.73 dial in

Junior Dragsters was the battle of round robin to see who could take the most wins out of three rounds.

Ben Young was the overall winner in the Hi-Tec Oils Lane 2 winning three out of three rounds, while Billy Kuhn came runner up in Max Cranes Lane 1 winning two out of three rounds.

Congratulations to all the bracket winners and also the club would like to thank all competitors, spectators, sponsors and volunteers for supporting the Steel City Drag Club through the 2018/2019 race season

The 2018/2019 Club Championship winners were Bradley Hicks for Modified Eliminator, Nigel Hartman for Super Sedan, Paul Langley for Super Street, Michael Jennings for Street Challenge, Wayne Edwards for Modified Bike and Amber Young for Junior Dragster.

Overall Club Champion and awarded the Charlie Dennis Memorial Trophy was Bradley Hicks. Bradley Hicks (Modified Eliminator) was also awarded the Glenn Tozer Memorial Trophy for the season.

Congratulations to all the winners and great racing for the season.
