The president of the Whyalla Bowling Club, David Bull, recently accepted new bowls mats from Sean Walsh, Whyalla manager for QUBE-BULK - a much appreciated show of support for the club and its members.

Their sponsorship commitment makes them one of two gold sponsors of the club, the other being Reg Parker Building Maintenance. This support partly covers the previous sponsorship of Onesteel, who supplied bowls equipment, junior coaching sponsorship, and sets of junior bowls, for the advancement of school student coaching/sports curriculum achievement .

QUBE-BULK's sponsorship commitment is hopefully an indicator that the tough period for Whyalla sporting clubs, after the Onesteel downturn, has passed and the Whyalla community is heading to a better future due to the commitment to the city of company GFG.

The Whyalla Bowling Club also takes the opportunity to thank all of its sponsors for their continued support.

This includes silver sponsors Terry White Chemist / Priceline, One Stop Carpets and Westlands Hotel for their continued support of the Easter tournament events.

Whyalla Funeral Services who continue as the major sponsor of Monday Night Social Bowls, and Whyalla Hose & Fitting (WHF) and J R Electrical provide support for other club tournaments and ongoing Club maintenance.

The club also thanks Bakers Delight and Casa De Pan Bakery for its support of its three-day Easter bowls tournaments.

The Whyalla Bowling Club exists for full and social members to play bowls with great facilities in a very social atmosphere, but has also progressed towards being a community club, providing a facility for catered and self catered social functions, ranging from groups having a social game of bowls to birthday parties and wedding receptions.

It is through the generous sponsorship of companies such as QUBE-BULK and those mentioned above that the club is able to address the ever increasing cost of running a sporting club. .

The Whyalla Bowling club invites all members and non-members to social bowls on Thursday and Saturday afternoons, 1pm start.
