While the Easter weekend is always one to remember, typically there has been no Sunday event to compliment the Whyalla UneARTh Festival, which starts on Good Friday and ends on Easter Saturday.
But this year the community is being invited to attend Lazy Sunday Acoustic Sounds on Easter Sunday, featuring music and gourmet food at the Whyalla Foreshore.
The event is being run by the Whyalla Tourism Focus Group and the Whyalla City Council in conjunction with Bis industries and will take place under the shade of a big tree near the Whyalla Foreshore Motor-Inn.
It will feature the music of Adelaide singer/songwriter Ollie English and local talent Brie Ryan and Emily Rawlings between 11am and 2pm.
Tourism Focus Group Chairperson Barbara Derham said the community is invited to bring a rug and laze the afternoon away by the ocean.
"It's been exciting on the Friday and Saturday of Easter but there's never been much to do in town on Sunday," she said.
"Bring a chair down, relax and overlook the beach and have a wonderful Sunday. If it's cool bring a rug but I think the weather is going to be quite nice.
"A lot of people are quite excited about it, should be a fun day."
Ms Derham said it was great to give young people the opportunity to perform live to an audience of both locals and visitors.
Free wine tastings from Sevenhill Wines will be available as will a variety of tasty food. For those looking to have a late breakfast, egg and bacon rolls will on the menu.
A marquee is being provided by the Whyalla City Council.
