A new business has joined the main street in Whyalla, with Rispirico Healthcare and ScooterWorld opening a new store on Patterson Street after moving from Playford Avenue.
Respirico offers sleep and respiratory healthcare equipment as well as mobility scooters and wheelchairs, having purchased Adelaide supplier ScooterWorld last year.
Managing Director Greg Pitman said the move gave the business more room for its mobility supplies and more exposure.
"We feel that justifies our move to Patterson Street," he said.
"I like to feel we carry a little bit of momentum and having our business here is a positive indication for others. We want to help attract other businesses to come to the main street."
The business sells products which assist in the treatment of sleep apnea, a serious sleep disorder that occurs when a person's breathing is interrupted during sleep, like Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines.
Nebulizers, machines which administer medication in the form of a mist inhaled into the lungs to treat asthma, and medical oxygen are also sold by Respirico.
Respirico also provides service and repairs for scooters and other mobility aids in house.
"In the past people often bought products from Adelaide or Adelaide suppliers and have been left in the lurch when they need service and support," Mr Pitman said.
"We can now offer that to our customers or anyone who has that equipment in Whyalla or Port Augusta."
The business employs three people locally with around 25 employees company-wide.
Respirico Healthcare and ScooterWorld is now located at Shop 3, Whyalla City Plaza, 2 -14 Patterson St, Whyalla.
