Vast improvement to the club's greens

Our course manager and assistants have completed the task of sanding the greens and already the labour has brought about a vast improvement to the texture and surface. It is always rewarding that with effort and dedication improvement is seen in such a short time. Well done, guys!

The senior men's stable nine-hole competition played on Wednesday was won by Allan Howell who amassed 18 points which pleased him immensely. Runner-up was Danny Bastian on 17 points on a countback from Julian Milne and Bob Clayton. The weather was ideal for golf so there were no excuses for poor scores.

Saturday's stableford competition re the 'senior' men played over 18 holes saw Danny Bastian eclipse the field big time, amassing 24 points. After a swab test, Danny was disqualified from the comp (no, just joking!). Danny is a popular member of the group and is excelling at the sport he enjoys. Well played! Runner-up was J Folkman on 20 points and Terry Brown who played to his handicap third in line for a ball. Thanks guys for the information! Now that the cooler weather is finally emerging, there is a noticeable drop in wildlife around the area and the 53 spots of rain that fell on Friday evening could be the start of more on the horizon.

May I, on behalf of the club members, offer sincere sympathy to the family of Jenny Pollock who passed away on Wednesday, March 27. Jenny was a dedicated member of the golf club and enjoyed her golf immensely, and also the social aspect. We members were all saddened by the news of her passing and will miss her presence around the club. May she rest in peace along with husband Jim.

The golf club has been a very popular venue for social functions of late with bookings at a high. If prospective events are being planned, don't hesitate to contact our bar manager Maree for details re prices, caterers available and dates that are free. Don't be disappointed!
