A happy group of lady golfers dined at the Sundowner Hotel (valued sponsors) to celebrate Marge Nicholls’ 70th birthday on Thursday. The best pavlova maker in the land made a real beauty which was served as the birthday cake and was enjoyed by all present. Thanks Maureen (Heading)!
I was delighted that after seven months absenteeism I was greeted so fondly by all present. Thank you so much, ladies! It meant a lot.
Richard Dunn really turned it on last Wednesday in the ‘seniors’ nine-hole stableford event scoring 25 points. That’s unheard of, Richard! What did you have for breakfast? Great golfing.
Jenny Pollock is now home in Whyalla at last! We all wish you well, Jen, and hope you’ll soon be out and about.
Maree and Marty Farr’s pup has taken over in the household - everything revolves around her. What a lucky pup!
One lucky golfing couple won a few dollars in x-lotto recently and were overjoyed. We all thought that the female would’ve shouted us lunch but that was not to be (just joking). Good luck to you both!
Richard Dunn was on the winners list yet again on Saturday in the nine-hole competition on this occasion, though he scored eight less stableford points finishing on 17. (Should have had more Corn Flakes, Richard). Bob Clayton was runner-up on 16 points.
I know of a chap who asked the recipient of x-lotto winnings if he could borrow a dollar. Guess what? She turned him down. Shame on you, ‘J’.
The winter season will commence just four weeks from now. Here is the bad news, ladies. Our ‘special’ extra cleaning of the clubroom is now due. The good news is the list of duties is placed on the ladies’ noticeboard and each can select the task of your choice. Good luck!

It was great to see Glenda Clayton, Marg Herbert, Maureen Heading and Jenny Custance out for lunch with the golf ladies for Marge’s 70th and Glenda Davies and Diana’s birthdays. Many thanks all for coming, good to see you. Glenda Clayton is having her knee replaced at the end of February and Marge on March 4, so all the best girls.
