Mayor, councillors to be sworn in

The public is invited to a swearing-in ceremony for the City of Whyalla’s newly-elected mayor and councillors next week.

The ceremony has been scheduled to follow the Electoral Commission SA (ECSA) official declaration of the 2018 Council election results for the positions of mayor and councillors in Whyalla.

The swearing-in ceremony, press conference and a City Growth Transformation presentation will take place at the Council chambers in the Civic Building on Darling Terrace on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, starting at 5.30pm.

The scheduled ordinary meeting for Monday, November 19, 2018, has been moved to Monday, November 26, 2018.

5.30pm-6pm – Swearing-in ceremony

6pm-6.45pm – Press conference. The newly elected mayor and Council CEO Chris Cowley to speak and answer questions. Newly-elected councillors available for interviews outside the formal press conference protocol.

6.45pm-7.30pm: Supper served while official photos are taken of the newly elected mayor and councillors

7.30pm: City Growth Transformation presentation
