Work by local artist Carolyn O’Neill is set to appear on the front of cards produced by  Australian social enterprise Noteworthy Cards.

It’s a collaboration that Ms O’Neill will hope gets her abstract art some more exposure while at the same time supporting a good cause.

“It’s exposure for me as an artist but it feels really good to give back. I don’t get any royalties or anything like that but the profits (from the cards) go to less fortunate people,” she said.

“It’s pretty amazing.”

Ms O’Neill reached out to Noteworthy Cards Founder James Agnew via email after seeing a post of theirs on Instagram. They settled on 10 pieces of artwork to feature on the front cover of the cards.

There’s no specific theme to the cards, with the designs simply showcasing a collection of Ms O’Niell’s work from over the years.

“My work is in the abstract/expressionist genre, it’s not so much about subject matter it’s more about emotion and the application of paint and colours,” she said.

“The great thing is you can use these cards for any occasion – there’s no text inside the card.

“As an artist I’m not a wealthy person but this has cost me nothing, they’re just using my images.”

The cards will be launched on Sunday, October 14 and will be available for purchase online at the Noteworthy Cards website at https://www.noteworthy.cards/.

To celebrate the launch of the O’Neill collection, Noteworthy Cards is offering Whyalla News readers 10 per cent if all cards until the end of October with the coupon code WN10.

The cards are 100 per cent recycled and are manufactured carbon neutral by a certified mill.
