It’s full steam ahead for this year’s GFG Alliance Whyalla Christmas Pageant and After-Pageant Fair, with resident float-maker Pete Santucci near completing his latest addition to the event.

Pete’s GFG Alliance steelworks train and ore carriage is an an impressive engine on wheels that is sure to attract attention during this year’s event.

The Whyalla Apex Club, organisers of the pageant and fair in conjunction with Council, is hoping this latest addition to the parade – plus many more from the community – will help push the participating floats past last year’s impressive tally of more than 60.

“Last year’s two events were huge, with more than 100 floats and stall-holders across the pageant and After-Pageant Fair,” Damien Trenwith from the Whyalla Apex Club said.

“Pete looks like he’s come up with another winner and we now want people to register their community group, business or family to participate in this year’s pageant.

“We get so many wonderful creations from groups, businesses and individuals and we’d like to see even more this year to make it an even more spectacular event.

“Even if you just want to dress up and march, you are more than welcome...this is a community event for everyone in the community.”

Executive Chairman of GFG Alliance, Sanjeev Gupta, will be here again for the pageant after his children had a ball participating in last year’s pageant.

The pageant will be run from 5pm to 6pm with the floats, marching bands, clowns, elves and of course Santa himself.

It finishes at Ada Ryan Gardens where the After-Pageant Fair kicks off at 6pm with children’s entertainment, stalls and a spectacular fireworks display.

To enter the November 24 pageant or apply for a stall at the fair, go to http://www.whyalla.sa.gov.au/christmaspageant.
