Photography has really been on display this month, with lots of great images and good results for club members in the Whyalla Show. Well done to all those who entered. The club also had a static display at the show, showcasing photos and information about the group.
The annual exhibition of around 60 photographs was on display in the Art Gallery for the month of August. It was very well received with many favourable comments. The viewer’s choice award went to Jeffrey Venning with his image of a Japanese snow monkey.
Practical night was enjoyed in the dark once again this month as members tried their hand at light painting. The wind was so bad on the night, this had to be an indoor activity, so fairy lights and crystal balls replaced light swords and sparklers.
It is great to see more members entering the monthly competitions now. It is a lot of fun to see what different judges think, and then discuss images with our own opinions, which quite often are very different.
We are always looking for new members and we welcome people with any level of photography skill or interest. We generally meet twice monthly, with activity nights, excursions and competition nights. For more information contact the group via email at WhyallaPhotographyGroup@live.com or phone Jeffrey Venning on 0427339540.
