Many thanks to all the helpers on the day and the grounds staff.
Special thanks to Charlie Agett for doing the cards as Marge ended up in hospital for the day having an arthroscopy on her knee.
Firstly, the Golf and Golf Bowling Club has lost three absolute gentleman members in recent times being the passing of Gordon Prosser, Vin Higgens and Grahame Eaton. Condolences to Heather, Betty and Eleanor along with family members. They will be long remembered.
It is most pleasing that Heather Prosser is back in action on the golf course and do you please also back in the winners circle straight off. Well done, Heather.
Margaret Dunn has also returned to form and so well deserved.
Have I heard correctly? Don't tell me that Marge Nicholls has injured her good knee! Recently Marge had a hip replaced and was coming good - now this. Some people can't have a trick!
Margaret Lewis has had another stint in hospital. I told Marg that we all need another artist that can erase us and draw us again. A few will put their hand up I'm sure.
Dianne Thorpe will soon be swinging her clubs again after rehab from knee surgery and doing all of the right things!
The four-day Whyalla Open was a great success with fine weather adding to the pleasure of competing. Congratulations to all who gave of their time and expertise and indeed energy in any way to make the event such a successful event on our golf calendar. You have done the club proud.
The season is fast coming to an end with September upon us already. Our ladies' closing day is in early October when trophies will be presented thanks to our loyal sponsors.
