Seven Whyalla players represented the North Adelaide Football Club in its under 15 side at the Country State Football Championships which were held in Adelaide from July 17 to 20.

The group included Dakoda Frodsham-Press, Ryan Winders, Devlin Heading and Kurt Wilson from the West Whyalla Football Club, Jeremy Clay from Roopena Football Club, Jake Murray from Central Whyalla Football Club and Cameron Dempsey from North Whyalla Football Club.

The country under 15 team got off to a slow start and were comprehensively beaten by Glenelg 12.12 to North Adelaide 0.3 on the first day, with Devlin Heading getting in the best players.

However, the side turned things around and had a win against Sturt 5.9 to 3.2, with Jeremy Clay starring in the winning team.

Then on the last game the boys fell two points short of the eventual grand finalist Central Districts 5.5 to 5.7, with Cameron Dempsey and Jeremy Clay getting their names in the best players list.

It was a great experience for the Whyalla boys who played well in wet and wild conditions.
