And just like that we have three rounds left of the minor season.

Some ladders are very tight at the top and we have some great battles coming in the next few weeks. Kiwi got their first win of the season in 11 and Under Division 2 in a very close game against True Blue. In Division 1 both Warriors and YCW had convincing wins while Roopena only just managed to hold off a strong finishing Ravens. In 13’s Division 2 Warriors snuck home over Kiwi 12-10 while Ravens Pink defeated True Blue 54 -10. While this score line might not look like much this is True Blue’s first time reaching double digits all season. A dominant True Blue Blue continued their winning form that sees them at the top of the ladder in 13’s Division 1 beating Roopena 54-10. Warriors win over YCW 28-20 sees them now push up into 4th spot. 15’s Division 2 saw Roopena take the win over Warriors 24-13. In 15’s Division 1 True Blue just scrapped over the line in a one goal win over Warriors Black. Kiwi Red have a commanding lead on the ladder over their sister team Kiwi Black on the ladder- 20 points to be exact. Saturday’s game looked nothing like that though with Kiwi Red only taking the points by 6 goals. In D grade 2 versed 3 on the ladder in Warriors Green and Roopena. This is the 3rd time these teams have faced off with Warriors taking the points in close games on the two previous occasions. Roopena managed to turn the tables this time in what was another fight to the finish, getting the win 35-33. Six teams in C grade are in a tight battle for the top four spots and the last three games will make a difference to where these teams finish. True Blue managed to secure a much needed win over Kiwi 32-24 which now has both teams tied on 3rd spot while Roopena had a strong win over Ravens 48-16 which sees them sitting 1 win out of the top 4. B grade is much the same in the standings with 3 games left and only 8 points separating 1st and 7th spot on the ladder. YCW Green’s win over Roopena 53-40 saw them move up into 3rd spot while YCW Yellow had a very close win 44-41 over Kiwi Black which moves them up to 3rd. Warriors and Ravens Pink have occupied the top of the ladder for much of the season. We saw some high scoring games in A grade this week.

Although YCW has shown much improvement throughout the season they will be disappointed in the 68-16 loss to Kiwi.

The game was somewhat closer between Warriors and True Blue but with Warriors finding some good form in the latter half of the season they proved too hard to beat winning 60-46.

This time of the year means we are busily preparing for our Annual Presentation Night which will be held on evening of the Preliminary Final on the 25th of August.
