North v Weeroona Bay
Saturday’s early game at Memorial Oval sees the undefeated North Whyalla take on a winless Weeroona Bay.
The Magpies are coming off back-to-back wins and were the first side to defeat West in over two years.
The Magpies defensive game has stood up in two low scoring wins but they will be looking for an improvement in scoring in this weekend’s game.
The Tigers have been up and down so far this year, after an impressive showing against South in round one they were unable to back that up against Central last weekend.
The Tigers will be looking for more consistency in their game and if they can find that they will push the Magpies all the way,
The Magpies should continue their winning ways especially if their forward line gets into action and they will be a little too strong for the Tigers.
North by 27 points.
West v Roopena
Saturday’s late game at Memorial sees Roopena come up against West.
The Dragons suffered their first defeat in over two years last weekend and it will be interesting to see how they respond having not been in this position for a long time.
Their opponents Roopena are looking the goods so far this year, they have good mix of players all over the ground.
Their defence can play tall and small, their midfield has plenty of runners that use the ball well and they have two big targets up forward that can kick goals.
This is going to be a great game of football that will go down to the wire with both sides a chance of taking the chocolates but I’m going to stick with the Dragons to get back on the winners list.
West by 11 points.
South v Central
To finish the round off South take on Central on Sunday at Memorial Oval.
The Roosters, after a disappointing loss in round one, returned to the winners list last weekend, their promotion of several talent juniors looks to be paying off.
They are a good even team that all play their roles and never give in making them a dangerous opposition for any team.
The Demons are a work in progress but in both games this season they have shown glimpses of what lays ahead for them.
When up and about they can be a dangerous side but just need to be able to stay in game for longer periods and if they can do this they will win more games than they lose
These two sides have had some epic battles in the last two years with most of their games being decided by under a goal and this clash will be no different.
Central by nine points.
