The cause of a fire in the same McNamara Street home where a man was stabbed and killed roughly 12 months ago is under investigation by police and fire cause investigators.
The fire caused $200,000 worth of damage to the house last night, but Operations Inspector Mark Hubbard said the building was unoccupied at the time of the blaze.
“At the moment the fire is being treated as suspicious. We have investigators coming up from Adelaide to forensically examine the fire and its cause,” he said.
The Metropolitan Fire Service have been contacted for further information.
A 23-year-old male was charged with the murder of a 35-year-old man in April last year after allegedly stabbing him in the same house on McNamara street.
