Four men arrested following assault

Four men have been arrested after allegedly assaulting and threatening a man known to them at Whyalla on the weekend.

It will be alleged about 1.30pm on Sunday January 7, the four men attended the victim's home where he was assaulted with a hammer and pole. He was also threatened with a firearm.

Fortunately, the victim's injuries were not serious.

Following investigations by Whyalla CIB detectives, with the assistance of Elizabeth CIB, four men have now been arrested.

A 44-year-old Whyalla Stuart man, a 28-year-old Whyalla Stuart man, a 19-year-old man of no fixed address and a 30-year-old Munno Para man were charged with aggravated assault causing harm, threatening harm, blackmail and unlawful detention.

The men have all appeared in court, where they were remanded in custody until 21 March.

Investigators have searched numerous addresses but have not located the firearm allegedly involved and urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 00.
