TAFE SA Hospitality students are finishing up for the academic year with their final coffee shop – a Christmas Dessert Buffet.
Students Hannah Millwood and Maria Rawnsley were both excited for the event, and are currently studying a Diploma of Hospitality Management.
Ms Millwood began studying the course at the beginning of the year at a Certificate 2 level, and has since completed Certificates 2, 3 and 4.
“I have learned a great variety of bar, coffee and restaurant skills which have helped me gain confidence during my work placement with the Oriental Inn Chinese Restaurant where I am now employed,” she said.
“My studies have assisted me in areas such as customer interactions, punctuality, presentation and other life skills needed in today’s competitive workforce.
“Working at Mondialies Cafe at TAFE SA has greatly contributed to my understanding of customers and their individual needs and expectations.”
Ms Rawnsley said the course helped improve her skills while working at the Bay View Hotel, and more recently as a duty manager at the Eyre Hotel.
“I highly recommend this course for anyone wishing to follow a career in Hospitality as it gives you so many positive benefits and leads to strong job outcomes,” she said.
Mondialies Cafe s open every Wednesday throughout the year. Applications for the 2018 program are now open.
