The winners of the 2015 Brand South Australia South Australian Regional Awards for the Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula region were announced last Wednesday at a gala presentation evening at the Westlands Hotel Motel.
Hosted by ABC News journalist Khama Reid, the event was a remarkable occasion with about 200 guests celebrating the achievements of individuals, groups and businesses in the region.
Brand South Australia chief executive officer Karen Raffen congratulated the winners from the region on their success.
"The evening was a huge success and a great way to celebrate and showcase the achievements and success stories of regional South Australia, as well as the hard work that goes into the regional awards - from the nomination and entry process, through to judging," Ms Raffen said.
"I’d like to thank everyone who was involved, including the nominees, finalists and winners, our judges who put in a lot of time going through hundreds of entries, and of course, our sponsors and partners who make this special program possible, in particular our major partner and category sponsor Primary Industries and Regions South Australia."
All winners received an iconic glass pear trophy, hand-made this year by regional artist Tim Shaw from Aldgate in the Hills and Coasts Region. The trophy has become synonymous with excellence as part of the Regional Awards.
