Whyalla police have reminded the public to ensure their vehicles are locked and no valuable items are visible after several cars were broken into last weekend.

Overnight, between Friday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7 there have been five separate reports of car break-ins in the Whyalla Norrie area.

Thieves entered two unlocked cars parked in a driveway on Norrie Ave, a carton of beer and loose change was taken.

A car parked in a driveway on Trevan Street was broken into after a passenger side window was smashed a handbag was stolen.

Entry was gained to a vehicle on McClennan Avenue by smashing a driver’s side window, resulting in a wallet being stolen.

Loose change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway on Jackson Avenue.

A car window was smashed on Dow Street, however nothing was stolen. Investigations are continuing and anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestopperssa.com.au
