There was fine weather for the 50-kilometre road race at the weekend.
It was started at the club house then out to the Lincoln Highway and to the Baron Turn.
The race finished near the Jubilee Park entry gates.
Some 14 adults including Anthony Freebairn from Port Augusta and two juniors enjoyed the ride with handicap starts.
The biggest handicap was 23 minutes to Lucas Hoffman who brought home the fastest speed time coming 11th over the line.
With no wind element and few other vehicles on the road it was smooth racing, and Cooper Jacobs was seen getting down on the bar ‘getting aero ’down the big hill who come home first over the line.
Next place went to veteran Bob Monaghan and third to Andrew Hodgkinson and fourth to Don Barrett.
Next week is an invitation race at Tumby Bay which is being organised by the Port Lincoln riders and families, a handicap club race over 50-60 kms. Check out photos on the Whyalla Cycling Club website.
