The end-of-season Cycling Track Championship was held on April 7 and 8.  The senior riders were pushed to their limits with great sprint/time trial times and close competition.

The junior riders worked hard and consistently to achieve narrow wins. The mini’s had their final night on Friday night, having lots of fun showing great improvement over the season.

Trophy presentations were held on the Saturday night, trackside with great numbers attending for a barbecue tea. With the children playing on the velodrome and parents could relax and soak up the atmosphere.

President Ashley Evans had his famous charcoal chickens to tempt the appetite along with shared salads and desserts. Coach Keith Gibbons and handicapper Matt Stanton presented the trophies with Keith giving each child and person a wise word and praise for their efforts and development.

Danny Ronan presented Keith with a thank you gift on behalf of the riders, thanking him for his time and effort with his coaching expertise. Rene Hoffman was thanked for his help with riding the motorbike for the motor pacing races.

The A grade Club Champion Lucas Hoffman said “it was a great honor” and he especially felt pleased that so many young riders are competing and he would like to think that he maybe seen as a role model for them.

With sadness the club farewells two families, Qiang Chen and wife Liu and son Harry, and the Williams family Fabian, Julieann and sons Elijah and Luca.
