The Whyalla Bowling Club has completed a further three of its club tournaments for its full and social members – the Championship, Handicap and Consistency singles competitions. The Club Championship singles semi-finals were played between Graham Pycroft vs Bob Melville, and Dave Bull vs Brian Coombes.

The club has also completed two other competitions open to all social and full members, both male and female. After three rounds of sectional play the Consistency Singles final was played between Graham Pycroft and Dave Bull.
Again after a very close game with very little between the scores the final few ends saw Graham dominate and run out eventual winner 103 points to 87. The other competition completed was the Handicap singles also played over three rounds in three sections.
Graham Pycroft won section A and went straight in to the final and the other two sectional winners played off. Bob Melville (-3 handicap) was the eventual winner over Dave Bull (-9 handicap) with a score of 18 shots to 16. In the final Graham Pycroft (-9 handicap) was unable to overcome the consistent draw bowling of Bob Melville (-3 handicap) and went down 22 shots to 17.
The 12-team Monday Night Social Bowls competition will continue into March before winding up for the season. This competition is open to anyone who would like to come and try the game of bowls, in a very social and relaxed atmosphere.
