The Whyalla Baseball Association is gearing up for a full season of softball (normal softball rules), with the season starting early in October.
Softball will be played mostly on Sunday's between the juniors and the reserves games, but will play four double headers for the season, which will be one game Friday nights and one game on Sunday, giving the girls an insight into playing under lights.
All games will be played on the main baseball diamond.
There will be only three teams, each aligned to a baseball club, hopefully making for a better and more even competition.
No men or junior baseballers are to play.
Umpires will be covered by the baseballers and the softball girls.
Seeing the softball will be played under normal rules, hopefully, more women/girls will come out and play the revised sport, which was a big hit last season.
Roadrunners are having a signing on day on Sunday, August 26, at the hockey clubrooms at 12 noon, for a barbecue lunch.
This day is for all baseballers and softball girls to sign registration forms.
The other two clubs will be holding similar days and when informed of the dates, we will let you all know.
