Most events were contested strongly and players certainly couldn't complain of having no tennis.

Friday night saw the parent/child doubles handicap event.

This event was originally designed to bring families back to the association and create a great social night.

It was about getting families doing something with their kids and this is something they can do no matter how bad Mum or Dad is at tennis.

This was the most hotly contested event of the weekend with 27 combinations hitting the court.

Parents were dusting the cobwebs of their strings and some racquets looked more suited on the squash court than a tennis court.

The juniors held their own coaching clinics with their parents telling them what to do and what not to do.

The final for this event saw the father and daughter combination of Tayla and Andrew Anninos play the mother and son combination of Marita and Jacques Ferreira.

The Anninos combination winning 6-2.

In the plate round, Angas Shaw and Angus McFarlane played the ever popular Rhind household.

Jordan is always giving sound advice to Dad Robert, but on this day, I'm not sure either of them were listening.

Angus and Angus won the final in a tight match 6-4.

T/Kay Maidza, Tayla Anninos, Benjamin Homes and the Ferreira brothers scooped many events over the weekend.

This group of players are the top in our competition and deserve congratulations on their efforts.

When you put in the effort you get the desired results.
