Dojo brings home awards

Whyalla Karate Dojo members brought home a number of awards from the recent State Titles in Adelaide.

Whyalla Dojo members attended the South Australian Competition and Seminar.

The standard in South Australia was high with the four Australian National Members doing extremely well.

Ryan Hardman, David McAurthur and Steven McBride came second in junior black belt team Kata.

David McAurthur was also awarded a special trophy for most outstanding junior of the seminar and competition.

In other Karate news, recently eighth Dan Chief instructor of Australia and New Zealand Takahashi Sensei completed his 30th year touring Australia.

Takahashi Sensei has been coming to Whyalla to teach and grade Whyalla students for 27 years.

Whyalla Dojo presented a plaque of appreciation for Sensei's dedication to Australian Karate.
