Alyssa Moore is only a goal away from her ultimate netball dream after receiving a South Australian Institute of Sport (SASI) scholarship recently.
From about 40 girls who tried out, she was among 12 girls who made the SASI team.
Moore said this would give her a lot of good opportunities like training with SASI coach Marg Angove, and also train with South Australian Netball Thunderbirds players.
She said the SASI team was the top competition before Thunderbirds, which is a team Moore aimed to play for one day soon.
In comparison, playing for the SASI team was like playing football for the South Australian National Football League.
Moore will begin pre-season at the end of November, ready for the season from March to September.
After Moore made a State reserves netball team earlier this year, she said hopefully this would give her the skills she needed to make the actual State team.
SASI Netball is a program aimed to support athletes with a pathway of resources and development in order to progress them to an elite level and represent National teams.
SASI provides coaching, management, sports science, video analysis, sports psychology, sports medicine services and access to several facilities.
