Hot weather made it very uncomfortable for the spectators and racers alike at last weekend's drag meeting.

The 700-strong crowd was treated to some fast and close racing under the extreme heat.

In the super sedan bracket it was an all visitor final with the Chris Lioulious in his Torana defeat Bradley Hicks in his dragster.

The best place local was Peter Datson in is Holden Torana getting to the semi finals.

In Super Street it was Adelaide racer Kylie Tanner defeating Whyalla local Leigh Donaldson.

Whyalla's Kenneth Grillet and Ricky Datson also made it to the semi finals.

In the motor bike bracket local Archie Fabian lost to Andy Zang in the finals.

Junior dragster had local Bailey Datson with the win against Adelaide's Michelle Donnelly.

Young local racer Emily Shiell got to the semi finals.

In the SA Street Challenge it was Jason Gregory that won against Rick Liddicoat in his Holden ute.

The next race meeting for Steel City Drag Club is round three of the Charlie Dennis Series on February 6.

Steel City is also holding a burnout competition on February 26 with burnout Masters of Garry Meyers and Clint Ogilviep doing demonstrations on the night.
