Harness racing history

A huge crowd witnessed a part of history for harness racing in Whyalla, when the club held its initial TAB meeting last Sunday.

The twilight meeting was a very successful promotion for the club, with plenty of action on and off the track.

Off the track the food and drink outlets were flat out keeping up with demand, with the amusements keeping the kids occupied, the two doing brisk trade all evening.

For harness racing devotees, the racing was of high standard with some close finishes.

The highlight was the appearance of South Australian leading horse in Ohoka Nevada, in the Century 21 Whyalla Cup.
