West Whyalla fought back from their loss from the previous week against North with a polished display to down finals opponent South by 36 points at Bennett Oval on Sunday afternoon.
South kicked with the aid of a three goal breeze in the first quarter and came out firing and by the 12 minute mark of the first term.
South banged on three goals all to Peter Jackson, who was proving all too tall for Aaron Smith.
It wasn't until Leigh Symons found space in the pocket and goaled getting the Dragons up and running.
For the next half of the quarter the Dragons attacked and were rewarded after a good exchange of handballs under pressure and ended with Dylan Everitt, who snapped it through from close range.
All of a sudden West had bridged the gap to seven points at quarter time.
The second quarter started with both teams attacking the ball hard causing turnovers.
Brad Smith, playing in front, set up Scott Norman who goaled and put the Dragons in front and then with a Henderson goal from 50 metres Westies started taking control.
West again went forward and found Nowak playing in front, who took a strong mark and goal and West skipped out to a 14 point lead.
The difference in the first half was Westies use of the ball and finding their targets and South, with as much use of the ball, but making poor decisions and missing their targets.
South started the second half with a lot more desperation, Chad Smith came on and added some much needed spark and when he found Peter Jackson he kicked his fourth and a much needed one for the Demons.
The Dragons shifted Shannon Winders to roam around defence who had been well held by Gavin Jonker in the first half.
Jonker too went forward and ended up with a goal and reduced the deficit to 15 points.
South were looking the better team.
Then after a South error, Russell Sawford swooped on a loose one and found Nowak, once again.
In front he gave off unselfishly to Brad Smith who made no mistake from 20 metres and West were back out to a 21 point lead, which they held onto and went into the last break with a handy lead.
South started well but as they had done all day, controlled periods of play with their final disposal letting them down.
West withstood anything the demons could throw at them and when a Kingsley Ware long bomb bounced through from right angles West were all but home and ran out convincing winners by six goals.
Westies had a number of good players none more so than Dylan Everitt, who ran all day and capped his game off with a few goals.
Scott Norman, who ran havoc across half forward and Brad Smith, who found space and used the ball well.
Leigh Symons got plenty of touches and Sticks Manfield kerbed Peter Jacksons influence when moving onto him and Simon Nowak was a good target up forwards all day.
For the Demons, Gavin Jonker ran hard all day, Jimmy Martin tried hard as always, Mark Phillips was strong at centre half back, Eddie Wilson was in everything and Peter Jackson with four goals was a good target.
Westies have the wood of South and have won all four encounters thus far and will head into the finals confident knowing that.
