Hopefully this weekend Memorial Oval will be prepared by the clubs.
West is to test the Roopena resolve for premiership glory when they cross paths on Saturday afternoon.
Roopena, still without injured Greg Fiebig are marching on with Dale Chenoweth and Ben Hogan stepping up to take on the West bowling machine led by Alan Walford and Jarryd Maxwell.
West on the other hand are showing signs of improvement with the bat.
Skipper Sam Frick and Keith Wade are getting amongst the runs of late, but will find Roopena's mean bowling outfit led by Joey Jaritz and Luke Skinner are still misers when giving runs away.
West need a good win to rebuild their confidence with Chris Burns and Sam Lewis capable of bigger things now.
Andre Willemse will step up to challenge Roopena, who need Waylon Nielsen and Ryan Burgess to qualify for the finals and add more strength to Roopena's push for the premiership this season.
West need Frick to use his bowlers wisely, with Jacob Daumuller and Ameya Athauale who may just be his secret weapons against Dale Gericke and Mark Fidock, hopefully stopping them in their tracks.
Roopena's young bowling outfit led by Alex Kristic and Tyler Stopp are improving each week and will surely test the West batsmen while they are at the crease.
