Roopena hit form at right time

25 Feb, 2010 10:45 AM
Under 17 grand final

Last weekend Roopena beat minor premiers North to have the right to challenge Magpies for the Jim Milne Premiership Shield.

Roopena have worked hard to get this far led by Stephen Payne, Tyler Stopp, John Vivian and Tyson Cox.

They now need to match Magpies' Anthony Buono, Josh Ackland and Shaun Taylor who are just as capable.

Roopena will need to bowl well with Jacob de Beer and Kyle Berryman needing to do their bit and claim the wickets of Matt Kirchner, Sam and Joshua Tilbrook and Dylan Marinelli for Roopena to win the grand final.

After a slow start to the season, Roopena have hit form at the right time of the year and it should be a good game of cricket with many of Whyalla's best young cricketers on show.

Possible team selected for Magpies is Shaun Taylor, Dylan Marinelli, Sam Tilbrook, Lawrence Spasojevic, Chad McLean, Elliot Hall, and Nathan Covino.

The rest of the team come from Anthony Buono, Josh Ackland, Jake Gericke and Matt Kirchner, the possible Roopena line up from Tyler and Courtland Stopp, John Vivian, Tyson Cox, Stephen Payne, Jacob de Beer, Kyle Berryman, Zac Thompson, Shaun Evans, Alex Calleja and Kyle Hutchins.
