Man of the match Roopena's acting captain Greg Fiebig with a well made 35 runs, returned to cricket in style to lead Roopena 5/105 from 32 overs, defeating West 10/100 from 38 overs at Memorial Oval on Sunday afternoon.
West batted first after winning the toss, with Naveen Kariyawasam making a brilliant 24, with only Liam Croft 13 standing up against the Roopena bowling blitzkrieg.
Once again, it was a poor batting performance by Westies batsmen, who seem to get themselves into good positions, but let themselves down playing silly shots.
Roopena bowlers enjoyed the cooler conditions, with veteran Allan Woolford taking 3/15 from 54 balls, with 18 dot balls, while Luke Skinner and Jake Gericke claimed two scalps each to add to their trophy belts, leaving one wicket each to Dale Chenoweth and Sam Sullivan.
