Cricket was the winner with Central 2/95 from 17 overs against North 10/94 from 39.1 overs in perfect weather at Memorial Oval on Sunday afternoon.
North won the toss with captain Matt Quist batting, leading by example making 50 runs, sincerely hoping his team mates would respond.
It was not meant to be as Adam Collins made 10 runs in the mix with three ducks and the other six batsmen could not make double digits in the scorebook.
Central bowling juggernaut saw spin practitioner Juan Estepa return with 5/29 with Daniel Collison 2/11, while Jeremy Edson, Scott Collison and John Stuppos were all part of North's demolition at the crease.
After the interval, Central's openers Brad Smith and Jarrod Dunbar set about the job before them as North's Shaun Taylor clean bowled Dunbar for a quack.
Edson joined Brad Smith at the wicket as both batsmen opened their attack racing towards 50 runs in a hurry.
Smith (24) was next to depart bowled neck and crop by Quist.
Still needing another 30 plus runs as Rajkumar Shanmugan and Edson steadied the ship making 55 not out.
Shanmugan finished 10 not out as Central firm for the outright favourite for premiership honours again this season.
