Roadrunners lose to Tigers

09 Mar, 2010 11:11 AM
RSL Tigers 5 defeat RoadRunners 4.

This was the final game and the efforts by both clubs putting on a great performance didn't let the crowd down. RoadRunners were controlled in their first innings attempting to score runs as the Tigers dominated them, getting them all out without scoring.

It was the Tigers who opened the score by gaining two runs.

In the second innings, Roadies managed to take over the lead by one run as the Tigers were pressured around the diamond and couldn't add more runs to their count.

Roadies Dylan Manuel gained two safe hits, whereas the rest of his team could only get one safe hit in.

Young rising star Steven Prior took two great catches at left field, with Tristan Wheeler also gaining a single catch for the RoadRunners.

RSL Tigers Aaron Looyestyn worked exceptional out at centre field to gain two catches for his team.

In the third innings, Roadies batted and managed to gain a single to add to their score.

When the Tigers returned to the batter's box, the leader board change in their favour and consequently time on the clock ran out and time and game was called by the plate umpire Tyler Welgraven, the RSL Tigers winning and taking the valuable premiership points..

The preliminary finals begin next week on Friday March 12 from 8pm.

The crowd will be entertained by all the teams battling it out for the grand final trophy and I truly believe nobody will be disappointed by the efforts from the teams.

Good luck all clubs as now our finals have come.
