Roadies confirm top spot

06 Feb, 2012 11:30 PM
Roadrunners confirmed their status as the top team after having a hard fought three run win over their nearest rivals Indians on Sunday afternoon.

Played in very tricky, windy conditions, Roadies played great baseball in a come-from-behind-win, final scores being 5-2.

Indians got away to a good start, outscoring Roadies to have a two run lead at the bottom of the first inning.

But Roadies got into stride in the second inning, scoring three runs to go into the lead and extended it further in their third time at bat, while not allowing Indians to score again.

Another run in the fourth innings, saw Roadies sew up the game, shutting Indians down in their fifth time at bat, for Roadies to hold a two point advantage on the premiership table, which is invaluable at this time of the season with only a handful of games left.
