Nicolson Avenue Junior Primary School held a sports day on Friday, but unfortunately the rain put a stop to some of the events before the staff could take part in their own competitions.
The event began at about 10am and included javelin throw, long jump, high jump and relays.
The intervening weather saw students, staff and parents making a run for shelter from torrential rain at about 12.30pm.
"The activities went extremely well, despite the weather," principal Julie Moretti said.
"Our focus is on physical education and participation, and the events are all about having fun.
"Everyone was extremely well behaved, but unfortunately with the weather the staff missed out on their event."
Although the school did not award one winner of sports day, each child received a stamp at each activity station and those who had a full card received a sticker at the end of the day.
"It's all about joining in and having fun, it was a nice way to end the term," Ms Moretti said.
The day concluded with a sausage sizzle for the kids and parents also joined in.
