Samaritan College's science lab will get a $1.9 million makeover courtesy of the Federal Government.
One of 500 funding recipients nationally, the college will benefit through the enlarging and gutting of its science block, creating state-of-the-art facilities with the renewal of all internal learning spaces.
"The timing is perfect," co-principals Christine Sloan and Terissa Shepherd said.
"With the college's focus on increasing students' exposure and participation in science teaching and learning from reception to year 12, the twenty-first century facilities will make a huge difference, not only in enthusing students but in attracting staff to the region."
All three college campuses will gain from the Government's economic stimulus package with School Pride funds providing play equipment, student shade and seating on both primary campuses and new playing fields on the Saint Teresa's Campus.
Meanwhile, building works will be well underway next year on the secondary campus.
"Such challenging times has brought an opportunity for renewal in schools," Mrs Shepherd said.
"Although it comes with upheaval and hard work, the rewards will be immediate and worth it, with children gaining so much."
The $1.9 million, which comes from round three of the Building Education Revolution, will also go towards the recent lodgment of the multi-purpose hall.
