Sports day success

09 Mar, 2010 11:12 AM
Despite the heat, Samaritan College annual combined school sports day was a great success again this year.

Samaritan College played host to Saint Mark's College of Port Pirie and Saint Joseph's College of Port Lincoln in the regional Spencer Gulf Athletics Carnival held at Bennett Oval on Friday, February 26.

Some of the events the students participated in were long jump, high jump, javelin, shotput, and discus.

The overall winners on aggregate were Saint Joseph's College,.

Overall handicap winner was Samaritan College.

The aggregate points were all very close between Saint Joseph's, Saint Marks and Samaritan College.

The students from all three schools participated in the many events that saw some great competition, and the winners were awarded ribbons for their efforts.

The students, while hot from the weather, were more than satisfied at their combined efforts in each event.
