Men's health matters

A Whyalla based committee is tackling the issue of men's health awareness as well as celebrating men in the community, with a free family fun day planned to take place in June.

The Whyalla Male-Out will be held on Sunday, June 17 and will coincide with national men's health week.

The event will look to feature a mixture of health and well-being information, various social, leisure and recreational activities, display and exhibits, free health checks and screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations as well as food, drinks and family fun activities.

It will also be an opportunity for small and large businesses and organisations to provide an exhibit or display, free of charge.

The organising committee is seeking displays and exhibits from lifestyle and leisure groups, educational and vocational groups, model and hobby clubs, tools and hardware vendors, police and emergency services, defence force, sporting clubs and motor clubs.
