Nine fire fighters took to the pubs on Friday night for the 'Shake the Boot' fundraiser.
They managed to raise $560 by visiting four outlets only before being called out to assist in a house fire.
Senior fire fighter Andrew Higgins said the fire officers will be out on the main street on December 19 to raise more funds during the City Plaza Street Party.
He said it was yet to be confirmed where the funds raised would be donated but the Whyalla hospital was a likely recipient apart from sending some cash to the burns unit at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Mr Higgins said support from patrons at the pubs was overwhelming.
He said this was an annual charity event for local use and his team was happy with the support they received.
'Shake the Boot' is a State-wide fundraising event organised by the Australian Professional Firefighters Foundation (APFF) in November each year.
Funds raised in regional communities go directly to hospitals, charities or causes in the community the funds were raised in.
In February, Adelaide and regional communities generously supported a special 'Shake the Boot' event held by the APFF in response to the Victorian Bushfires.
The $200,000 that was raised across the state through the special 'Shake the Boot' was donated in full to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfires Appeal.
