$14,500 raised for CHAD team

29 Oct, 2009 09:28 AM
The Whyalla Young Professionals Charity Ball raised about $14,500 nearly doubling last year's total.

About 180 tickets were sold for the stylish event with all proceeds given to the Child, Health and Development (CHAD) team at the Whyalla Hospital.

Organiser Anna Chapel said she believed the evening went well and had received good feedback from those people who attended the ball.

"We were hoping to raise $10,000," she said.

Ms Chapel said the Whyalla Young Professionals group "were stoked" with the outcome.

She said planning for the evening started in July and the event was a few months in the making.

Ms Chapel said the highlight of the evening was watching everyone having a good night.

The night was kicked off with an auction of donated goods from local businesses by auctioneer Wayne Foran.

A table of various donated items were bid against by patrons with the monies raised being included in the total amount.

Attendees enjoyed the evening and danced the night away to live entertainment, Bad Bad Boys, with all monies raised going towards a good cause.
